"Wide tailed boards are so much fun because you can still rip on small sections and get lots of speed on the flats too. And they’re especially good for airs because you have all that room in the tail to push off of when you leave the ground, and a full nose to land on. The Amber Flag is that kind of surfskate, wide nose and tail for full foot support and increased leverage in carves, but short in length so you can snap tight turns and get height. This short-and-wide template is the magic formula for that deck that seems equally adept at fast and tight carving and easy cruising, with everything in between." 9 7/8" wide 6 1/4" tail 3 1/2" nose 16 3/4" wheelbase
We’re continuing our development of surf/skate pairings with the iconic Channel Islands Flyer, designed by Al Merrick. We’ve kept the slight rail bump at the tail, giving you a slightly wider back foot platform while keeping the overall template light and snappy, just like its namesake. 9 3/4" wide 6 1/8" tail 3 3/8" nose 16 3/4" wheelbase http://shop.carverskateboards.com/collections/surfskate/products/30-75-ci-new-flyer
Our collab surf/skate model with Channel Islands, the Pod Mod, is meant to be ridden wider and shorter, so we went with these characteristics and kept it on the shorter side, while giving it a bit fuller template for increased control rail-to-rail. 9 3/4" wide 6 1/8" tail 3 1/2" nose 15 1/2" wheelbase http://shop.carverskateboards.com/collections/surfskate/products/29-25-ci-pod-mod
The 31" Da Monsta is a collaboration with master shaper Todd Proctor from Ventura and is a surfskate with the same look and feel of his popular 'Da Monsta' surfboard model. Describing Da Monsta as a surfboard you can skate on waves, the pairing with our surfing skateboard was just a perfect fit. It's further cross-pollinating performance between surf and skate, and gives riders a tuned pair of boards to do that on. -9 3/4" wide -6 1/4" tail -3 1/2" nose -17 " wheelbase
We love progressive surfing as much as the next shredder, but we also love the current look back at vintage surfboards and traditional styles of wave riding. Inspired by all the little Eggs we’re seeing in the line-up, we made the Eggbeater in the style of a single fin hull, a rounded pintail that’s still short enough to snap turns as much as it carves smooth and flowing lines. Even the graphic is a throwback to traditional surfboard designs, with a darker rail, center stringer and visible tail patch. The full nose let’s you get a fairly wide stance for such a short board, and the proper kick tail gives you the all-important ability to pivot turns and hop over cracks and bumps. A great all-around board for cruising and pumping, this board will work equally well with either the C7 or CX truck sets; the C7 set will give the board a more flowing performance with a great range of adjustability, the CX set will give the board a more snappy performance with a lighter frame. -9 3/4” wide -6 1/8" tail -3 1/8" nose -16 1/2" wheelbase
Sometimes you want to dial in your wheelbase just so, and full-inch sizes are not specific enough. With the 30.25” Firefly we’ve shaved ¾” off our popular 31 Resin to make this board even snappier while still retaining the same progressive shape of an archetypal squash tail. The narrower nose keeps the front of the board light and nimble, while the proper kick tail is a wedged deckpad that locks in your back foot where it counts, giving you leverage into any tail-driven trick. From boneless air grabs and ollies to bank and ditch surfing, this little board is a true surfskate. Practice the same tricks you want to perfect in the water, plus work on flow, trim and power carves. With a 16 ½” wheelbase you get a little more stability than other shorties, but not so much that you lose the super easy pump and the driveway-tight carving. Recommended with the CX truck set for a more progressive skate performance. -9 3/4" wide -6 1/4" tail -3 3/8" nose -16 1/2" wheelbase
"We were stoked to meet Sean Mattison, he has a natural connection with the performance of our surfskates. To capture his dynamics on land we kept the deck a short 31 ½” overall but pushed the trucks out for a longer wheelbase. At 18 ½” it’s comparatively longer than other boards of similar length, giving it a more drawn-out line and very fast pump." 9 3/4" wide 6" tail 2 7/8" nose 18 1/2 " wheelbase
Taylor has been on the Carver team for nearly a decade, and during his tenure we've made numerous board models for him. His most popular by far has been the Fort Knox, a mid-sized deck with the wider spooned nose for extra forward foot placement. Everything is designed to work with Taylor's style of power carving, so for 2014 we've made a few adjustments. First we added a quarter inch of length to this signature model and lengthened the wheelbase by 3/8". It's a subtle adjustment, but widening the stance and drawing out the carves by just a little bit makes this all-around board pump a bit faster. It still has the same easy pump and stable pushing properties, but with the added length Taylor has adjusted the stance so its even more closely matched with his surfing stance. This is important when using the board for surf cross-training, as it sets up good foot placement habits and proper muscle memory. Next we gave the template a fuller squash tail for a classic look and feel. And finally, we've kept the winged theme for his graphic, as well as his favorite blue and black colorway, creating a new Knox with the same classic vibe that Taylor has always had. -9 7/8" wide -6 1/2" tail -3 1/4" nose -17 1/2" wheelbase
The 33" Fraktal's mold is based on the classic double-kick pool board, with a symmetrical nose and tail kick and a medium concave, providing a wider stance than a standard shortboard, but short enough for an easy pumpability. It has all the elements you need to integrate transition, vert and air into you street surfing line. The steep nose is great for ollies, the extra-wide tail gives you a solid block to plant your back foot, while surfy template indicates the directionality of the board. Get good on your progressive moves with this hybrid surfskate and then take them back out to the lineup, like you've had a surf coach on land. -9 3/4" wide -6 1/2" tail -6 1/2" nose -16" wheelbase
"This Carver Great Wave C7 37" Complete Skateboard is a classic, long enough to cruise with ease but short enough to carve and pump the smaller sections. The longer wheelbase creates the stability necessary to carve down steep neighborhood hills and comfortable enough to glide to the corner store. The traditional tail kick upgrades this surfy cruiser into a real performance board for when you need to plant your foot over the fins and take control." 9 1/4" wide 7" tail 5" nose 20 3/4" wheelbase
The Inallofus reintroduces our Rocker mold, a flat-rockered shape that curves upward just like your surfboard. We have all become so accustomed to decks with concave that we forget how good it feels to ride a flat-rocker deck. The first thing you’ll notice is how the curvature of the deck cants your feet inward slightly, leading you to drop your knees towards each other. This stance in combination with a flat deck feels more like you’re standing on a surfboard than any other deck. We included a short tail extension, so even without added kick you still have the all-important ability to pick up the nose for any bump hopping and tail pivoting. And at 32” long this short board feels very stable, great for cruising and pushing. The lowered center is a great push platform, with less knee bend and more stability. The long 18 ½” wheelbase is stable at faster lines like downhill carving too, so this is a versatile traveler. Original artwork by renowned surf artist Erik Abel, his totemic portrait slyly captures the essence that is ‘in all of us’. Available with the CX 6.5 truck set only. -10” wide -5 7/8" tail -3 1/2" nose -18 1/2" wheelbase
When we met with Josh Kerr to session design ideas for his new models we "were stoked to find that he already had a strong vision for this model. The first thing he said was how much he liked riding the little board we had given his son. He loved how snappy it was, and told us how much pumping he did just in his driveway. We love that too, so we were stoked to make one for him. Plus he said because it was small it was easy to bring along on trips and ride anywhere in the world. But since this is a mini for Josh we added a little bit of width for better board control, while not adding too much so it stayed small and light. And when it came to graphics he wanted to use a photo by his friend and filmer Matt Kleiner, so we worked with Matt to get the perfect shot of Josh doing what he does best; flying over the lip." 9 3/4” wide 5 1/2" tail 3 1/2" nose 14 7/8" wheelbase
Like any dedicated surfer, team rider Josh Kerr has different boards for different conditions. As part of his Carver quiver he wanted a longer diamond tail deck for bigger carves and faster lines to compliment his shorter 28” Snapper model. We kept the width slightly pulled in to keep the weight down, and with a little extra length you can widen your stance when pumping for speed and get plenty of leverage over the front truck. Since the longer wheelbase can handle more speed, this can handle those ‘big days’ when you want a board that will hold a fast line downhill, but still snap a turn when you get to the top of those big banks. During our design session with Kerrzy he described the photos he wanted on this board; a hot girl, waves, a thatched hut, … all the elements of a great surf lifestyle. Taken by his friend and filmer Matt Kleiner, they are a true view into the life of a traveling surfer. Recommended with the CX truck set for a more progressive skate performance. -9 3/4" wide -6 3/8" tail -3 3/4" nose -17 1/2" wheelbase
"The 27.5” Mini Simmons was inspired by the super short blunt-nosed boards shaped by Bob Simmons in the late 1940’s, considered to be the father of the modern shortboard surfboard. For our skateboard version this means you get a shorter, lighter board with a wider nose right over the truck so you can place your foot as far forward as you want with full support all the way to the tip. Without any extra weight past that, the deck is lighter and easier to throw around, making pumping this mini fast and easy. And unlike most short decks, this one is plenty wide throughout with a proper kick tail so you get the full leverage and support under your feet. Just like the surfboard version, this little board rides like a much larger board, which is why this progressive/retro model has quickly become a staff favorite, finding it’s way into all of our backpacks and car trunks. Because of the short wheelbase it’s at its best when pumped in small, tight spaces, easily generating speed from a standstill and maintaining continuous carving. It rules in driveways and curb cuts, where you can make your own mini wave machine, like having a micro-skatepark on every sidewalk" 9 3/8” wide 5 1/2" tail 2 3/4" nose 14 7/8" wheelbase
When the director of the new Point Break approached us, he told us he wanted to work with a performance-oriented company to make the board that would not only be featured in the story of the film, but also ridden by the stunt riders for the skateboarding action scenes. We were stoked to be a part of the project so we worked directly with the stunt crew as they began rehearsing the scenes, which involved surfskating down a spiraling parking garage ramp, dodging cars and going fast. They needed a combination of control at higher speeds while maintaining tight maneuverability and quick response. We sent them various sizes and configurations until we arrived at the best proportions. At 33 ¾” this board is not very long, but the 19” wheelbase smoothes out the ride for higher speeds, while the chopped off nose gives you a nice wide platform for your front foot for extra carving control. It was a combination that worked perfectly for the demanding requirements of a professional stunt crew, and we thought it would be something our riders would appreciate, too. The Proteus skateboard features a boxy template, giving your front foot more support and allowing for a wider stance on a shorter board, while the clipped nose reduces swing weight when snapping a turn. The concave spoon nose hugs your foot and increases leverage, while the proper tail kick gives you the pop you need for ollies, pivots and bonelesses. The Proteus comes with the new Roundhouse Concaves, which are designed to increase grip over standard wheel designs. The arched surface flexes to hug the road, allowing you to lean into turns like never before, and come the closest to the kind of hold you get from a surfboard rail buried in the face of a wave. The Proteus skateboard is also designed as a matched pair to the new Proteus surfboard, which shares the same template and performance characteristics, resulting in a seamless transition from land to sea. 30 1/2" Long 9 7/8” Wide 69mm/78a Concave wheels 17" Wheelbase http://shop.carverskateboards.com/collections/surfskate/products/proteus-skate?variant=5103019844
"The 31" Resin. The narrow nose template and wide tail is just like your favorite squash-tail wave killer. It's plenty wide and just the right length so you can snap and pump the flats with ease, and drop in to any hill with confidence." 9 3/4" wide 6 1/4" tail 3 1/2" nose 17 " wheelbase
Carver’s commitment to surfskate began with surfing, so it’s natural we’d partner with shapers who’s vision overlapped with ours. Tyler Hatzikian’s focus on functional tradition dovetailed into our passion for modern surfskate perfectly. We’re stoked to introduce the new Riddler. Designed with Tyler for the local hills and alleys of El Segundo, the Riddler surfskate picks up on the interstitial space between longboard trimming and highly maneuverable carving. At 35.5? it’s just long enough for a small cross step, while the longer wheelbase pumps faster. The mid-sized deck is also short enough to keep the responsive turning characteristics of the Riddler. A great transitional size that will help longboarders practice cutbacks and strengthen maneuvers on the wave, it features a single concave down the length and a proper kick tail for pivot turns and acid drops. Because that’s what Tyler’s Retro-Modern style is all about: integrating innovative performance with classic longboard flow and style. SKATEBOARD SPECS: 35 1/2” Long 9 7/8” Wide Recommended with the C7 truck set for flowing single fin performance. And as part of the collaboration, Tyler has produced a custom Carver Riddler surfboard. A truly unique take on the evolution of the traditional noserider, the Riddler combines tight, effortless turning with a highly developed noseriding ability. The winged outline and down-rail combined with the blunt-nose design translate directly to enhanced responsiveness from both tail and tip. A classic Tyler Advanced-Traditional design. The Serape, which is the Spanish name for the traditional Mexican blanket we use here in SoCal for everything from Hot Rod seat covers to beach blankets, is one of our new incremental length short boards which fills in the gaps between whole-number sizes. Since the quickest pumping comes from smaller boards we’ve added numerous in-between sizes so you can really dial in your selection. For this model we wanted a small template with a longer wheelbase, so you get the performance of a slightly longer board with a smaller, lighter deck. We were inspired by the short, wide-tailed surfboards we use for carving and air tricks crossover popular in Ventura county. The short length gives you that snappy pump and carve, while the wide tail gives you plenty of leverage to dig deep with your rear foot for powerful turns, and boost big airs with a solid take off and landing platform. Recommended with the CX truck set for most progressive surfskating. -9 7/8" wide -6 1/4" tail -3 1/4" nose -16 1/4" wheelbase
The mid-sized length falls nicely between our shorter progressive models and our mid-sized models, making for a well rounded, universal cruiser. The extra width in the nose allows you to stand farther forward while keeping plenty of foot support. With its 17 3/8” wheelbase has the stability to carve down steeper inclines and hold the faster line without twitching, as well as pump fast lines on the flats. This board will work equally well with either the C7 or CX truck sets; the C7 set will give the board a more flowing performance with a great range of adjustability, the CX set will give the board a more snappy performance with a lighter frame. -9 3/4" wide -6 3/8" tail -3 3/8" nose -17 3/8" wheelbase
The 29” Swallow has been one of our favorite boards for years and a staple in the Carver quiver. This little board handles like it’s namesake, fast and loose. The combination of short and wide is magic, because the shorter wheelbase makes pumping this board on the flats just effortless, but the extra width and concave makes it a comfortable cruiser, too. The kick tail completes the versatility, giving you some needed pop for kick turns and crack-in-the-road hopping, explaining why it’s been one of the longest running designs in the Carver line. We’ve updated the graphic with one of surf-artist Ryan Kleiner’s hand painted waves, evoking exactly the feeling of looking through the eye of the tube. This board will work equally well with either the C7 or CX truck sets; the C7 set will give the board a more flowing performance with a great range of adjustability, the CX set will give the board a more snappy performance with a lighter frame. -9 5/8" wide -6 1/8" tail -3 3/4" nose -15 1/2" wheelbase
